Trimline Window Tinting

Have a window tinting or remote start-related question? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • When can I roll my windows down?

Trimline Window Tinting recommends keeping your windows up for 3-4 days. Our installers put protective tape on the window controls, so you don’t forget. If you do forget, we won’t give you a hard time. We’ll gladly issue a replacement within reason.

  • Does the tint go on the outside?

No. All our window films go on the inside of the glass. Our team usually prepares the film on the outside to ensure it adheres to the glass. Window film has two visible layers: the disposable pre-mask and the glue side that gets installed onto the glass later.

  • What is the haziness and distortion?

It’s normal to see haziness, distortion, and small water pockets on the film after installation. It usually starts to go away within 24 hours. Window tint takes approximately 4-7 days to fully cure. During the winter, it could take up to 2 weeks. If you see something that’s not going away, we have you covered.

  • I accidentally rolled my windows down. Is that okay?

Usually, the film is fine. We recommend keeping the windows rolled up for at least 2-3 days. If you rolled your windows down by accident, please stop by our location ASAP. We will inspect the film to make sure everything is good. We usually replace window tint at no charge if this happens within reason.

  • Is window tinting legal in Kansas City?

Yes. Window tinting is legal in Kansas City. There are different rules depending on the state you're located in. In Kansas, window tints can be 35% across the entire car glass. For Missouri, the front-side auto glass can have up to 35% minimum tint, but the rear glass can be as dark as you choose. At Trimline Window Tinting, we can install any tint for your vehicle.

  • Will window tinting keep my car cooler in the summer?
